YouTube monetization checker

Type your numbers from YouTube Studio and see how close you are to each Partner Program threshold.

Long videos: 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours

Subscribers 0 / 1,000
Watch hours (12 months) 0 / 4,000

Not yet

Shorts: 1,000 subscribers and 10 million Shorts views

Subscribers 0 / 1,000
Shorts views (90 days) 0 / 10,000,000

Both paths need 1,000 subscribers. Watch hours from the Shorts feed do not count toward the 4,000 hours.

Also needed

  • Following the YouTube channel monetization policies
  • Living in a country where the program is available
  • No active Community Guidelines strikes
  • 2-Step Verification on your Google account

Make it a series

YouTube monetization checker: how to use it

  1. Open YouTube Studio and note three numbers: your subscribers, your public watch hours from the last 12 months, and your public Shorts views from the last 90 days. The Earn section shows your progress too.
  2. Type the numbers into the three boxes. Each path shows a bar per requirement, and its status changes from 'Not yet' to 'Reached' once both of its numbers are met.
  3. When either path is reached, apply in YouTube Studio under Earn. Before that, check the list of other requirements under the bars, because a threshold alone does not get a channel in.

Example

Written by hand to show the format. Your result will be different.

You type
640 subscribers, 1,800 public watch hours in the last 12 months, 2,500,000 Shorts views in the last 90 days
You get something like
Long videos: 640 / 1,000 subscribers and 1,800 / 4,000 watch hours, not yet. Shorts: 640 / 1,000 subscribers and 2,500,000 / 10,000,000 Shorts views, not yet. The smallest gap is the 360 missing subscribers, which both paths need.

Tips

  • Count only public videos. YouTube Help says watch hours come from public long-form videos, and private, unlisted and deleted videos do not count toward either threshold.
  • Do not mix up the two kinds of time. Watch hours from the Shorts feed do not count toward the 4,000 hours, so a Shorts-only channel should look at the 10 million views path instead.
  • Keep uploading after you are accepted. YouTube says a channel with no uploads or posts for 6 months or more may lose monetization.

Questions

What are the YouTube Partner Program requirements?

YouTube Help lists 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 public watch hours in the last 12 months or 10 million public Shorts views in the last 90 days. You also need 2-Step Verification, a linked AdSense account, no active Community Guidelines strikes and to live where the program is available.

Am I accepted as soon as I reach a threshold?

No. Reaching a threshold lets you apply. YouTube then reviews the whole channel against its monetization policies, which its help page says typically takes about a month.

Does this checker connect to my channel?

No. It only uses the numbers you type and works them out in your browser. Nothing is sent to Mubuz or to YouTube.

A steady upload schedule is what moves those bars, and Mubuz can keep one going: one idea becomes a series of up to 10 short episodes, each a 15-second vertical video with captions and voice, posted to YouTube Shorts on your schedule.
